Spreading school Spirit
With this spread, I wanted to highlight the school spirit to celebrate the festive time of the year. With this spread I made sure to highlight dominant elements of the spread, making the pictures I thought captured the holiday spirit and the Carlmont community the best.

02
Produce-ing local flavors
The design for this spread was heavily inspired by one of the photojournalism stories from the previous issue. I really liked how the spread made it easy for the viewer to focus on a singular dominant image, and have smaller multiple supporting images to help the story.

Kicking off the Program
In this spread about the start of the freshman girls soccer program, I got pictures from my photographer that highlighted the dedication and energy of the team. I made sure I made the biggest pictures of the coach teaching the kids and used smaller supporting pictures of the players practicing to help show different aspects of the freshman team's traning.

04
Galloping to new heights
With this spread, I wanted to highlight the pictures, making sure I do minimal design and let the pictures speak for themselves.

05
Dancing devotedly
This spread covers the human profile of dancer Michelle Ahl. I wanted to make sure that the color pallet of this spread matched with the pictures, emphasizing the colors red and black.

06
Behind the violence: The youth gang epidemic
This spread was fun to work on as I was able to help plan and execute the photoshoot for this article. Since this article was about youth gang violence, I went for a almost murder mystery color theme, highlighting a dark brown background with a orange yellowish hue.

07
Hardship to hope: A player's journey
In this spread I tried to highlight the human focus story of the journey of injured soccer player Calvin Wooll. I used multiple cutouts from photoshop to outline his body, and then a nice picture of him to fill the right page.
